Introduction

i chose to do a kiwi as a mascot for new zealand because it represents new zealand as new zealand's national bird this is how you make a paper mache kiwi.

What you need

• 2 balloons                                                                        

• Heaps of glue that is not in a bottle  
• Lots of news paper
• Thin Cardboard
• Masking Tape
• Googly eyes
• Pva Glue
• Heaps of feathers if you can find a feather pillow
• Paint (colours of choice)

How to Make A Paper Mache kiwi

• Blow up two balloons one smaller than the other for a head and a body.

• cover the balloons in glue one at a time then put ripped up newspaper strips on the balloon and do four layers of the whole balloon (both the balloons).

• Put the head and the body together by putting small but long strips on the head and the body but make sure it tucked right in the gap so it is not going straight.

• Cut a piece of thin cardboard not to big so you  can put you beak on then wrap the whole piece of cardboard with masking tape then tape it to the kiwi then paper mache on the tape that is on the kiwi head and also paper mache the beak.
• Next you paint it the best colour for it are:brown for the body and head and yellow and orange mixed together for the beak.

• put your googly eyes on your above the beak, glue them on with the pva glue.

• Go outside before you do this part, now you feather you need glue and feathers ( lots of both)  mixed together  get handfuls of feathers and glue and stick it on the kiwi when covered the whole kiwi leave it to dry.

YAY the Paralympic day has begun my team went to the sack hopping first I found it quite challenging because we had to hop and we no legs to walk with we had to hop to a cone go around the cone then go back.

Next my team went to the scootering football my team found it hard cause we had to scooter around kiking a football

My koru art represents my family. My Grandma is yellow and gold. Grandad is dark blue and turquoise. Mum is yellow and orange. Jorgia is pink and purple. Dad is green and dark green. I am dark blue and light blue. I did rainbow colors as my back ground because it is pretty  because the colours of the rainbow  is most loved in my family.

Im most proud of my whole Calendar Art because it took a long time to do it. What was hard was the background. It was hard because the koru were in the way of some of the lines. I had to figure out where the lines went and what colour went there. I like the rainbow background the most because it looks pretty and goes with it. 

P.E Reflection's

Today we played a game called The blind Throw it was really hard we got split into groups then split into another group witch were our countries we had to throw a bean bag into a hula hoop but you are not aloud to look were you are throwing it and it is harder than you think.

I think i did pretty well my team didn't go very well or though it is fun. The other team won but we all had fun.

During Reading Where did walter go? Is walter still in the ship Box? Is walter ok? Were the owners tried to get hold of him but they cannot get hold of him because he was gone somewhere else and also did he wonder of to a danger place that really bad and tried to get that mouse but he cannot get it and the ship box door then it went BANG! And then the cat, walter was crying?	Walter is nowhere to be seen. He is in a ship box by chasing a mouse.

An Explanation of the  parts of cars

The most important parts of cars are the engine, the wheels, the body. I am going to explain about each part.Cars are vehicles they can carry you wherever you want them to go.

The Body

In the Body of a car there windows, windows are  to keep the wind out of your face and to keep any bugs out of your face. A seat is for you to sit in so you can get in the car and drive in a comfortable seat. The door is for you to open and close and  to keep you from falling out.Cars have lights to guide them through a dark rainy day or night. The boot is to store your things that you want to take somewhere.

The roof is to shelter you from rain snow or hail.

The wheels and Steering Wheel

A spare wheel you can use incase of an emergency like a flat tyre. The wheel is for the car to move smoothly across the  road. A Car has a steering wheel to steer you in all different directions  you want to go.   

A car is an amazing invention because it can take you places and you don’t have to walk everywhere.

Maths

I used heaps of muscles to build my learning powers of Resilience and Resourcefulness to help me In Maths. I built my Resilience Muscle by persevering in trying to work out my times tables. I also used my Resourceful muscle by  questioning anything that i don't know about and how to use it.

Art

This term we have been doing koru art I think I built a lot of my learning muscles

I used Resilience by Managing Distractions by ignoring people who are doing the wrong thing.

I also used Reflectiveness  by planning in my topic book and not starting my big piece of paper until I thought I was good  and had checked with the teacher.

My Highlight in my Holiday - Writing

My highlight for  2016 term 1

One day in the school holidays my Mum , Grandad , Grandma , Sienna and I did a sausage sizzle on the 1st of may at Keirunga Gardens/ Trains fundraising for my sister’s (Jorgia) marching.

FINALLY!!!!!  We got our first customer after about an hour of waiting because we come at ten o'clock and the Trains start at eleven o'clock we cooked , we served , we got the money and made about 2 sausages and then we had another and another until no one was coming so Grandad sat down and we had some fun reading my script for the play Rumpelstiltskin that I got a part in for Gretel                       

“YAY” Sienna is finally here to help. Sienna realty wanted to come and help do the money so Sienna, Harlow and Sarah came  to help but Sarah and harlow just went on the playground and I felt happy and sad, happy because there won’t be enough room and sad cause they are not helping one cent.  

Sienna and I did the money, it was super  fun because Sienna was getting the money and I was giving change. The sausages were two dollars and the drinks were two dollars.

Soon  Sienna left and went to go on a walk with her Mum and Sister and I was left doing the money. Twice  we went  to pack up  and people came for more sausages and Grandad had turned of the barbecue so we had about  4-5 people waiting for the sausages to cook  so we cooked the sausages and we got their orders done.

By the end of the day we had got $176 for the sausage sizzle fundraising for my sisters (Jorgia) marching for nationals.

That is the end of my story hope you enjoyed it.

Hello everyone I’m going to talk about a maths work sheet that I did a while ago. Down below is a picture of the sheet so you know what I am talking about. We are learning about figuring out what the probability is for landing on the colour blue so we did some figuring out untill Sienna and I got the answers

Moment In Time

      A Moment in Time

“ Yay “ I yelled as I ran up the stairs from doing tiering bush bashing.

Finally we got to the top of the stairs and started listening to natania talking about the criteria and getting ideas from us. She finally stopped talking and let us start our car.

At the start all I did was the windscreen. When the bush bashers got back it was afternoon tea time, after afternoon tea time we started doing our cars again and  at that time sarah (one of the parent helpers) helped me with my car and with her help she helped me to  finish it and make it ready to paint it.

Finally it was time to paint it my car was themed cake and cat car. Here are the colors of it: red and blue for the sides which is the cake  with brown wheels as the chocolate chips on bottom. The back was orange with a number plate and two cat on each side of the number plate. It was so good by the time I Finished  it was about  from midday to five or six 0 clock. “that's a record”. When I finished I was so happy cause I was so hot and tired my hand was sore and I needed a drink.

It is finally time to watch the movie. We watched home alone 2. It was so FUNNY!!!!!!! I nearly cried.

Here are my highlights for camp  

I enjoyed making the drive in movie car because when we were painting it I kept  getting bumped and then putting paint all over my legs.

I enjoyed the really funny parts in the movie they were a crack up😂.

Crossing the river as a group was fun😊.

I liked the bush bashing that was fun because we had to climb over the big trunks.

The nui swimming event (relays)

Nui swimming

Last Friday the whole of the nui did swimming relays. Relays are swimming widths  across the pool. I love relays they are so fun.

The first events were egg and spoon. There are two groups on either side of the pool and one on the deep end and one on the shallow end after the first relay we did another relay then we swapped.
